CORBA EALERT

Your desire to ride trails is important. This workshop is open to the public. Do not assume that someone else will do it. Your voice can make a difference.

What: Public Use Management Plan Workshop (PUMP), June 3, 9 a.m.-1
Ridgecrest Intermediate School, 28915 Northbay Rd. in Rancho Palos Verdes. Map available at
Why: The workshop will give input to the city’s consultants (Melendrez and Associates), who will prepare the Vision Plan, which will be available for public review at a later workshop. The PUMP will ultimately decide how Rancho Palos Verdes’ open space is used. This includes the people who can use the trails that we have been riding for almost three decades.

Since over two years, the Forrestal Preserve Management Plan has been managed by the Concerned Off Road Bicyclists Association-PV. The Vision Plan will include trails and a management plan for Rancho Palos Verdes’ 450 acres.

This plan must include cycling. It doesn’t take much to speak well; all you need is to express your opinions. We could be left with very few trails if there is not enough people at these meetings.

CORBA PV has been hard at work to keep the trails open for bikes. Many cyclists have donated hundreds of hours volunteering to help preserve the land and repair trails. Most people are not opposed to riding bikes on trails because of the hard work of cyclists. There are still some people who object to bicycles. This should not happen!

CORBA-PV has a discussion on the issues and points of view. It is worth checking out. Please plan to attend Saturday’s workshop. For more information and the most recent news, visit mtbpv.org.
